ABOUT THE BOOK

Hugo Rodriguez made his first arrest at the age of twenty and went on to become the youngest FBI agent. He subsequently became the youngest member and one of the original hostage negotiators. He also served as the Bureau's first undercover agent in murder-for-hire cases and eventually assumed the role of Legal Counsel.

Exploring the FBI of the 70’s and 80’s, he tells the fascinating story of what really existed behind the badge. How Hispanic, Black, and Female agents, known within the FBI as the Spics, Spooks and Broads encountered an entrenched culture of exclusion and bigotry.

“The FBI’s Unwanted” is an indictment of the systemic discrimination that permeated the world’s most powerful law enforcement agency.

Their conflict with the FBI had to be fought publicly. Risking everything, the book is an explosive true story of betrayal, bravery, and a fight for justice.
